If you are looking for the thinking beyond the reviews, you have landed on the right page. While eating is a basic, simple activity that generates irrational reactions, it is also deeply steeped in culture, zeitgeist and personal experience. Hence, why not create a section for thoughts, questions, rants, suggestions and anything in between? This section was almost called the mixed bag at one point, but that seemed too vague!
Most of the topics I am writing about here will be food related, though don’t hold me to that. Everyone needs a soapbox to stand on every now and then!

Today I want to bust a whisky myth. Specifically, the myth that “Springbank doesn’t do marketing”. It is a belief that seems to permeate the whiskysphere. As someone who works in marketing, it drives me mad. I will try to demonstrate that, in the right hands, marketing can do good.
Today’s post and review of Campbeltown Loch concludes my series exploring Blended Malts with what many consider one of the best blends available. It is also an opportunity to reflect on transparency of information in whisky and ask if we should expect more from Springbank.
With my exploration of entry-level, Single Malt Whiskies aged only in ex-bourbon casks coming to an end, it is time to round up my impressions. Like a little game of “Kiss-Marry-Kill”, but for whisky.
