The third stop in this exploration of funky whisky brings me to the shores of Scotland’s largest lake to review the Loch Lomond 12 year old. Considering I tend to have a spot for outliers, and how different Loch Lomond is from the stereotype of a distillery, this one should be right up my street!
After the Benromach 10, I take another step into the funky whisky realm with this review of the Ben Nevis 10 year old. It is fair to say that Ben Nevis is a cult distillery with a loyal fan base who swear by it.
After Aultmore, I am looking at another one of Dewar’s/Bacardi under-the-radar distilleries with this review of the Royal Brackla 12 year old Sherry cask finish. As for Tamdhu 12 just a few days ago, I expected a Sherry forward bottle and got something else.
For the second stop dedicated to Sherry aged single malt, I am reviewing the GlenDronach 12-year-old Original. Recently the star of GlenDronach seems to have dulled a bit. Is this change in perception justified?
